Gates To Nowhere Wins the Black List’s First-Ever Unpublished Novel Award

Gates To Nowhere made history as the inaugural winner of the Black List’s Unpublished Novel Award in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy category. The judging panel included Sara Hildreth (FictionMatters founder), Rebekah Jett (Editor, Scribner), Isaac Klausner (Head of Film, Temple Hill Entertainment), and award-winning author and screenwriter Gary Whitta.

The Black List expanded into original fiction at the end of 2024, with coverage in The New York Times, Variety, Publishers Weekly, and The Los Angeles Times. Category winners receive $10,000 and increased industry visibility for their manuscripts.
